Hello 💚 My Name is Oz
I am a dedicated DevOps and Software Engineer based in Israel, with a deep passion for automation. Constantly on the lookout for innovative tools and technologies.
Since 2007, I've been writing software, applying my skills both professionally and in personal projects. My expertise spans from daily work responsibilities to crafting fun, innovative projects, especially those centered around sport or my favorite football team, Maccabi Haifa.
In my personal life, I am blessed to be the husband and the father of three wonderful girls and one boy. My leisure time is often filled with watching sports, with a special fondness for Maccabi Haifa FC, coding for pleasure, and creating joyful memories with my family.
Discovering the World of Computers
From a young age, my fascination with computers has been a constant companion, beginning in the era of Commodore 64 and XT, AT 386/486 models. I found joy in assembling them, replacing hard drives, memory, and tinkering with other components. My journey into computer programming took its first steps with a Commodore 64 and a BASIC programing language book, followed by an afternoon class in Pascal language. These experiences ignited my enduring passion for technology.
My Educational and Career Journey
In 2006, I graduated with a BSc in Computer Science and embarked on a 14-year journey at Amdocs, evolving from a Java Developer to a Team Lead, then to Development Manager, and ultimately into the roles of DevOps Engineer and DevOps Manager. Throughout my varied development roles, I consistently ensured hands-on involvement, even in managerial positions. My fascination with automation, a passion that predated the DevOps era, led me to experiment with automating processes, flows, and pipelines. This exploration naturally steered my career transition from development to CI/CD, paving the way for my eventual formal engagement in the world of DevOps. After spending numerous years at Amdocs, I felt ready for a new challenge and transitioned to Datomize, a startup specializing in Synthetic Data, where I took on the role of DevOps Team Lead.
